• Greet clients in a pleasant and welcoming manner and engage them in conversation to determine their beauty products requirements

• Respond to clients’ questions and concerns regarding available products and services while adhering to company policies

• Show clients retail products for hair and skincare depending on their specific requirements

• Assess clients’ skin and hair types to be able to truthfully provide suggestions and feedback

• Explain product benefits and precautions to clients and ensure that information about skin allergies is properly documented

• Provide clients with advice on oily, dry, or combination skin types and assist them in understanding how to handle hair care products

• Assist clients in making purchasing decisions by providing them with the pros of each product

• Provide clients with free makeovers according to company policy and ensure that they are made aware of the products being used

• Style clients’ hair in a bid to help them decide which hair care products to buy

• Provide product demonstrations for items such as lipsticks, foundation, and eyeliners

• Lead clients through the purchasing procedure, ensuring that payments are properly processed and change/ receipts are tendered

• Manage and update beauty products displays in an appealing and aesthetic manner

• Create and maintain effective relationships with beauty products vendors to ensure timely and accurate delivery of items

Beauty Consultant Position Requirements

To be considered eligible to work as a beauty consultant, you do not need more than a high school diploma or a GED as far as formal education goes.

If you have a diploma in this area, you will of course be considered a great person to hire, since you will know much about beauty products and their use, and require minimal training.
