Guidelines

“I am the best person for the job and you need not look elsewhere” should be the essence of your cover letter. Since you cannot write it exactly like this, you need to dig a little deeper into how a cover letter is written so that it says this much – and more.

How you begin and end a Service Cashier cover letter are both equally important.

Of course, what you write in the body of the letter is important too but if the opening is strong (but the content in the letter body is not too solid), you can still get away with a lot of things.

However, strong content throughout the resume is necessary. Make sure that everything that you put in a cover letter is meaningful and has a strong bearing on what you are as a professional.

The anatomy of a cover letter should be such that it attracts the reader enough to want to read the accompanying resume.

Remember that resumes are documents that are dreaded by employers (they are long and boring) but if a cover letter is attractive enough, the reader will have no choice but to go through the resume as well.

Here is a sample cover letter for a service cashier position for your reference:

Dear Mr. Tan:

Combining my love for automobiles and skills in cashiering, I am applying for a service cashier position at Autonation.

If you look through my resume, you will see that my following qualifications will help me contributing effectively to Autonation:

• Calculating taxes and discounts on purchased parts and applying them to appropriate repair orders.
• Balancing cash drawers with special focus on ensuring constant reconciliation.
• Processing finance and insurance (F&I) and other correlating sales monies.

As a dependable professional who is a perfectionist where cash handling and customer services are concerned, you will find me a perfect fit in your organization. To discuss this in further detail, I would like to meet with you in person. I will be in touch with you after a few days to set up a suitable time to meet.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Fredrick Mason
