Babysitters are employed by childcare centers, agencies or families to look after children needs for emotional and physical support while the parents are at work. They are expected to provide custodial service of children on a temporary basis. They need to interact with children, understand their needs and fulfill them appropriately. Babysitters are also required to keep children entertained while ensuring their nutritional needs are fulfilled. These professionals also look after infants, change diapers and bathe them.

Qualifications: Write your summary of qualifications in short and bullet statements. This may include your skills in looking after children of varying ages along with ability to provide them with a safe environment.

Babysitting Skills/Core Competencies: Write your relevant skills in this section. Try to include a number of relevant keywords in this section. This section will helpful for employer while interviewing you. It is also beneficial if prospective company is using a resume parsing software.

Professional Experience/Accomplishments: Your work experience comes next. Provide information about your relevant experiences and a list of achievements. You can say that you entertained your wards, prepared nutritious food for them, assisted them in changing clothes, helped with homework and cleaned the house. There are many other duties that you can list depending on your individual job setting.

Education: Mention your educational background in this section.

Additional Capabilities: Listing your additional attributes at the end is very important. There are several things you can put in this section. Attention to detail, knowledge of age appropriate nutritional needs, excellent communication skills, ability to handle crises, ability to practice first aid and CPR, disciplining capability and understanding of children’s personal needs is just a few of examples to add in this section. Be sure to put in that you are a punctual person as this will show your professionalism!
