Cover letters are as important as resumes are – in some instances, they are even more so. The cover letter is usually considered a concise version of a resume which it isn’t really.
The cover letter for implementation analyst position should be written to provide credibility to the accompanying resume and not merely reiterate the information in it. In fact, if a cover letter does reiterate the resume, it is considered a poor piece of writing.
A cover letter cannot be too detailed – while solid information does make a cover letter profound, a long one can be discouraging, as hiring managers have many others to read, and usually do not like reading long accounts of an individual’s professional life. Keep it short like the sample given below:

Dear Mr. Manning:
Constant and consistent success in facilitating the deployment of new software and associated business functions across the organization, makes me an excellent contender to work as an Implementation Analyst at NAVEX Global. Both my academic background and the 10 years of progressive experience suggest that you will not find a better person to handle your company’s systems implementation work.
Specifically, my qualifications include:
• Documented success in providing implementation and configuration support to assigned clients to meet both milestones and deliverables.
• Hands-on experience in preparing and maintaining detailed project plans and status reports, and issuing logs in support of client projects and initiatives.
• Unmatched ability to proactively identify and recommend opportunities for process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Bringing these forward, I would like to meeting with you so that I can further elaborate on my skills and qualifications as an implementation analyst. I will follow up with you in a few days, and can be contacted at (999) 999-5241 if you require additional information.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
